Join the book club of MG Road's newest bookstore for some lively discussions, author readings on what else but books

Page Turners, a new bookstore on MG road looks, feels and stocks like any other bookstore you would find in New York, Paris, London or Sydney.

Most of the books stocked inside this bookstore you would find anywhere in the world, making it easy to pick up a popular read for a gift or yourself.

The store has been done up in the trademark orange colours of the Penguin Publishing house and will instantly remind you of those classic Penguin book jackets.

The funky bright orange signage that spells out the name of the bookshop and a window full of Penguin jackets should be reason enough for you to step in even if you are not in the market to purchase any paperbacks.

On the inside, the spacious three storey shop provides a home to some of the literary greats from our times and before.

For the home decorator or the traveller, the first floor will appease your desires with a vast array of coffee table photographic books and travel guides.

The second floor houses a collection of popular western authors while the "Gems of India" section will quench your thirst for national authors and Indian philosophy and history.

The Biographies section is sure to entertain with a variety of life stories from important people in pop-culture, sports, acting and politics.

If you are looking for tomes especially for your kids, the third floor offers a huge variety of educational and entertaining children's books.

Of special interest is a section dedicated to penguin classic pocket books with the covers restored to their original vintage look and feel.

The staff is friendly and helpful. If you're looking for a particular book in the store or looking to order something, all you have to do is to approach the front counter. Same goes if you want to join their mailing list or be invited to book launches in the future.

Since the store is owned by Penguin Publishers, it is but natural that it ought to stocku00a0 90 percent of its own books. If you're looking to expand your book collection with authors under other publishing houses, you've come to the wrong place.

And, if you like to keep up with latest releases don't bother coming here as the only new stock will be anything straight out of the Penguin house. Same deal if you come back for a second or third time looking for new material as the existing stock is unlikely to change anytime soon.

However, this store is fantastic if you're looking for a gift for that person that is just too hard to buy for.

The diverse range of books caters to anyone of any age or gender, making that belated birthday present an easy find.

It's also a great store if you don't know what you want to read but are looking to be inspired. Page Turners could be your next stop to drop in post work or on a lazy weekend to just browse around.
