New Delhi: There is no question of giving a 'clean chit' to Union Finance Minister and former DDCA chief Arun Jaitley when an investigation into its alleged financial irregularities has not even begun, the Delhi government said on Monday.

“No clean chit has been given to anyone in Delhi cricket body probe. The enquiry is yet to begin,” Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia told reporters.

The BJP on Sunday pointed out that a Delhi government report on irregularities in the DDCA did not even name Jaitley, who headed the association from 1999 to 2013. The BJP said the AAP government owe Jaitley an apology for falsely accusing him of observing corrupt practises, even though its own report found nothing culpable against him.

Dismissing the BJP's demand for an apology, Sisodia raised a number of questions on financial irregularities in DDCA's functioning and in giving tenders for work already done.

“Election commission of DDCA, Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO), and fact-finding committee have found scams involving crores of rupees.

How fake companies were created and given tenders and how payments were given for work, which had already been done. The election commission reports also say that private cricket academies are being run under the umbrella of DDCA. There is no scope for students of school and colleges to participate in league matches of DDCA,” he said.
