Requests PM to probe deeper into the matter of his suspension and get back to him with specific answers

Narendra Modi should tell me my fault: Kirti Azad

Ahmedabad: MP Kirti Azad yesterday asked PM Narendra Modi to intervene after being suspended by the BJP for conducting ‘anti-party activities’, and indicated he may seek a court-monitored probe against the DDCA.

A defiant Azad maintained that his fight was only against alleged corruption in the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) and not against any individual and asked for ‘specific reasons’ for the disciplinary action against him by the party.

“BJP and RSS always speak about uprooting corruption. We also talk about walking the path of Mahatma Gandhi. Thus, wish that Narendra Modiji intervenes in this issue, goes deeper in it, and then tells me about what I have done wrong, as I need specific answers,” Azad told reporters.

BJP chief Amit Shah had ordered Azad’s suspension on Wednesday for publicly targeting Finance Minister Arun Jaitley with allegations of irregularities in DDCA during his tenure.

While talking to the media, Azad alleged that the CBI is indirectly helping DDCA by alerting the cricketing body through notices, resulting in ‘disappearance’ of files.

“I request CBI not to issue notices (to DDCA), as files eventually disappear after such notices. If tomorrow I will go to court and demand a court-monitored inquiry in this case, then you will be in trouble,” said the BJP MP from Darbhanga in Bihar.
