In its fifteenth year, Freedom Jam is a platform for musicians to get together and rock. Started with the concept of music for free, Freedom Jam does not charge listeners and in turn does not pay musicians for performing at this platform. "All musicians are equal and all of us are just smaller fish in the sea," says Siddharth, organiser and musician, with Baaja.

"We select bands and send out fillers to them. Also bands approach us and anybody and everybody is free to perform at the Freedom Jam", he adds. The members of Baaja brought together the concept way back in 1996, which has just got bigger and better.

Spin King from Moscow comes to town

And he is here to rock this evening at Fuga. DJ Bobina is ace producer, remixer and DJ all stirred up together. His big break came in 2004 when Bobina released his number Catchy. Soon his sound travelled outside of Moscow with his electronic dance album release Lazy World that reached the numero uno slot in the electronic world.

DJ Bobina's sound combines a mix of strong vocals as well as instrumental trance and has played his club thumping numbers at The Winter Music Conference (2006) at Miami Beach, Dutch dance event Trance Energy (2007) and Gatecrasher Summer Sound System (2008) held at Sheffield, England. Whether Bob Dylan will ever make it to India or not is something left best to speculation, but Shillong's famous Khasi guitarist and singer Lou Majaw has definitely gone to great lengths to keep Dylan and his music embedded in our hearts.

In town to play a tribute to his favourite singer Dylan, Majaw is coming with a brand new blues band. Majaw, who first got inspired by Dylan when he heard him sing on the radio, organised Dylan's birthday on the May 24, 1972 for the first time.

Since then every year Dylan's birthday is celebrated in Shillong unfailingly. Though Majaw maybe a grand old man himself much like Dylan, his spirit and colourful attire defies his age.

While Jalebee Cartel comprise Arjun Vagale on mixing and scratching, Ashvin Mani Sharma on laptop and synths, Ash Roy on vocals and percussions and G-force Arjun on bass who will be working their magic with their unique mix of electronica, Ma Faiza is a music force unto herself.

This formidable DJ of Indian African origin is a globetrotting musician and specialises in sound, strong visuals and experience.

DJ Vachan needs no introduction to Bangaloreans. His spinning to enthralled crowds in city clubs is testimony enough. He will be back along with the other acts with his minimal tech and hard electronic, house and techno sounds.
