Mumbaikars warned against 'live' Mumbai metro lines

The Mumbai Metro One Private Limited (MMOPL) has appealed top the residents staying in the vicinity of 11.07 Km Versova - Andheri - Ghatkopar Metro corridor that some sections across the corridor will be charged with 25000 Volts, 50 Hz, AC in coming days and people should take precautions.

Mumbaikars warned against 'live' Mumbai metro lines

The statement issued to the media stated that, overhead traction line should be treated “LIVE” all the times. Unauthorised person are strictly advised to refrain themselves from approaching or working in the proximity of the said overhead line.

The statement read further that, MMOPL cautions general public that the 25000 Volts AC Single Phase Traction has heavy induction in all metallic structures and conductors in the vicinity of the Metro Rail Tracks.

Inductive effects show themselves on any overhead conductor, such as metallic clothes wires, power lines as well as lines belonging to the private parties running parallel and close to the Metro Rail Tracks.

Hence, general public are advised to take a note and take necessary precautions against the possibility of electric shocks from conductors running in their premises.

Between Versova Metro Station to Near Navarang Theatre (Pier No. 4 to Pier No. 125), w.e. f. 22nd March 2013

Between Navarang Theatre to Andheri Metro Station (Pier No. 125 to Pier No. 145), w.e.f. 31st March 2013

Stabling Yard No. 1 at D N Nagar Depot, from Line 1 to Line 9, w.e.f. 31st March 2013
