The Camp area seems to have become a hotbed for fledgling stores to showcase their wares. The latest to join the competition is Chrysos, the brainchild of best friends Pinky Dhayani and Madhu Mathrani. The designers are aiming to add every walk-in to their customer list, as they are sure that women belonging to every age group will find something to catch their fancy at their store.

Chrysos specialises in tunics, salwar-kameez, sarees, one-piece dresses, casual tops, capris, shorts and skirts, semi-casual, formals, jewellery, clutches and bags. It stores a well-balanced collection of in-house and sourced items. Some of the clothes and accessories have been brought from Korea, Bangkok and Mumbai, whereas the sarees, jewellery and some of the kurtis and dresses, have been designed by the two friends.

The store has a well-organised and chaos-free look. Clothes, jewellery and bags are all separately displayed on the ground floor, and a narrow and steep staircase leads to the top floor, where one can browse through Indian wear.u00a0

As soon as we entered the place, the jewellery designed by the two designers caught our eye. The beaded neckpieces, stone and semi-precious stone earrings and bracelets are gorgeous, yet modern. The party and Indian wear tunics and kurtis, in bright hues, are made using various fabrics like silk, georgette and chiffon with zardosi, sequin-work and gota work. And though the sarees here were a limited edition, each piece seemed to be made with great care and dedicated attention.

The casual wear, that has been sourced from Korea and Bangkok, include tops and pants, which were reasonably priced. Made using soft silk and cotton, some pieces looked trendy, while some were completely out of style.
