Also, Jiah’s mother Rabia Khan filed a petition in the Bombay High Court on Thursday demanding another investigation in the case.

The application filed by Pancholi’s lawyer Prashant Patil said they are ready to face the trial and alleged that the prosecution and Rabia Khan are causing delay in the proceedings. The application read, “The applicant has been denied his right of expeditious trial.”

While the special women’s court was supposed to begin hearing arguments on framing of charges against Pancholi yesterday, the CBI demanded that the trial should be conducted in their court as they have investigated the case. The high court had earlier asked the CBI to investigate the matter and that’s why the judge pointed out to CBI that the orders were only to conduct investigation and not trial. The court also later asked the prosecution to not delay the case further and begin the trial.

Speaking to mid-day, Rabia Khan said, “We filed a petition in the high court on Thursday asking them to conduct another investigation by any agency or team as we are not happy with the investigation conducted by CBI. CBI has also failed to give us relevant forensic reports and CD of autopsy.”

The petition is likely to come up for hearing by next week. The Special Women’s Court will now hear the case on Monday and has also ordered CBI to give all the forensic reports and CDs asked by Rabia then.
