NSD Repertory Summer Theatre Festival

Acharya Tartuffe

It's a play based on Moliere's French play. Tartuffe, a saint in Pondichery influences Omnath, a businessman. Omnath brings him to his home. Later, when turmoil hits Omnath, he along with his mother completely devotes himself to the teachings of Tartuffe against the wishes of his family.

Written by Ballave Narahari, the plot spins around prince Jayaveera, who is not interested in worldly life or inheriting his father's throne. He just wants to pursue philosophy. The real problem begins when he gets married to an innocent and beautiful but middleclass girl Sadarame.

The fact remains that if we, too, live a conscious life like them, we'll be celebrities in little worlds. If you, too, want your kids to bloom and blossom in the best ways, let them plunge into the world of theatre with Shelli Koffman.u00a0u00a0

Act Facts : Organised by theatre company Actor Factor, the 10-day workshop is designed essentially for the age-group of 12-18. However, the upper age limit can be extended to 24 years. "The training has been planned for those who have absolutely no idea about theatre, but would like to get a hint of it," says Sunit Sinha, Actor Factor. Intensive training will be given through innovative theatrical drills, games and exercises.

Got talent? Participants who will perform remarkably well will stand a chance to be a part of the future productions of the theatre company. "After every workshop, we take contact details of the participants who have the potential to make it big. And whenever we feel the need, we call them," adds Sunit. After the conclusion of the workshop, the attendees will put up a special performance on June 13 at Lok Kala Manch auditorium.

In the 14 years of her career, Koffman has featured in several renowned productions as director and actor. She is the founder member ofu00a0 Fiefdom a long form improvisational group in New York, worked regularly with Westmont Theatre Company and other theatres in Israel and Columbia.
