Participate in the joy of giving week by dropping in for a mediterranean meal, and helping 6,000 underprivileged kids
Cricketing icon Sachin Tendulkar's 11 year-old daughter Sara asked friends at her birthday party to make a small donation towards her favourite charity, rather than bring her gifts. She sure made daddy proud, considering he is brand ambassador for the Joy of Living Week, an initiative that believes in the power of a single person to bring about change by giving.

So far, more than 200 people have signed up for the cause, including some of the biggest names in glamour.
Bollywood personalities Sonam Kapoor, Anurag Kashyap, Farah Khan, Imtiaz Ali and Nandita Das, sportsmen Rahul Dravid and P Gopichand, politician Sachin Pilot, industrialist Azim Premji and spiritual guru Deepak Chopra are on the list.
Tonight, Teach for India and Akanksha, an NGO that runs after-school centres for low-income group students and imparts formal education through municipal schools run through public-private partnership, ask you to do your bit in an innovative fashion dine at one of the city's best Mediterranean restaurants. Teach For India places graduates and young professionals in low-income schools to teach for two years. "The amount generated tonight will be spent on the welfare of 6,000 underprivileged children living in Mumbai and Pune.

October 2 will be celebrated as Come Alive Day. Here, you can choose an activity that you love, and do it with underprivileged kids. If dance is your thing, how about teaching a few killer moves to the kids? The event kicks off at SNDT College, and moves to different areas across the city.u00a0
