Incessant showers threw life off-kilter in Mumbai on Tuesday.
Heavy rains coupled with high tide led to normal life in Mumbai city being disrupted on Tuesday. The incessant downpour led to waterlogging in several spots in the city and traffic jams on the Eastern and Western Highway.

There was waterlogging in several locations like SV Road in Santacruz, the Saki Naka-Marol road in Andheri, Mahim church area, Versova, Elphinstone, Milan subway, Juhu, Matunga and Kurla.
Commuters were severely affected during the morning peak hour, with traffic moving at a snail’s pace. People traveling towards south Mumbai also had to handle the pothole-ridden roads.

Traffic was almost at a standstill on the Eastern Express Highway in Amar Mahal Junction in Northeast Mumbai and Sion.
Traffic was also crawling near the Kherwadi junction and also from Mahim causeway upto Mahim Church.
During evening peak hours, there were more than km-long traffic jams from Mahim Causeway up to Kalanagar junction.
Traffic jams were also witnessed in SV Road between Santacruz and Andheri and also near Jogeshwari. In the eastern suburbs, traffic had come to almost a standstill on LBS Marg between kurla and Ghatkopar.
The continuous rains led to water logging and Harbour line was brought to a comes to standstill due to the flooded tracks. Western, Central Railway lines were running late.
Suburban services on the main line were running behind schedule. 70 services on the Harbour line and 28 services on Main line were cancelled.
According to the MeT department, the rains may continue intermittently for the next 48 hours.
The MeT department has asked people to ignore any SMS warnings of floods in Mumbai, saying that those are being circulated by rumour-mongers.
