In a strange ritual, people in Assam organised a frog wedding in their endeavour to appease the rain god.


The winter crop sowing season is coming to an end, and there is a belief among some that organising a frog marriage can ensure good rainfall.


As per the ritual, a wild female frog is married off to a wooden figurine, which represents the Hindu god of rain, Indra.
