Yodhakaa, a contemporary band from the city of Madras draws its influences and its name from ancient Sanskrit. Their music spans various genres in bringing together a sound with a distinct contemporary Indian element.
Having been a performing band for a few years, Yodhakaa is now on a three-city tour for the launch of their first album named after the band. The consistent line-up of the band includes Darbuka Siva Prakash on the drums and percussion, Subhiksha Rangarajan on the vocals and Pradeep Vijayakumar on acoustic guitar and vocals and has Keba Jeremiah and Donan Murray accompanying them with the bass and guitar.
Talking about the Bangalore gig, Darbuka Siva tells us, "Besides launching the album and playing a few tracks of the same, we will also be playing a few unreleased tracks".

Catch Kolkata-based band Saturday Night Blues as they bring in the magic of blues to town. A mainstream blues band, Saturday Night Blues was formed in the year 1999 and has since performed across the country in gigs. The band promises to bring back memories of cult bands like Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, The Doors, Dire Straits and those of artists like Bob Marley and Credence Clearwater Revival and has something for all those music lovers looking to drive away the Saturday evening blues.

Catch this production titled Draupadi- Will My Spirit Live On? that explores the impertinent question of how Draupadi's turmoil and life from the epic Mahabharata reflects on the women of today. A contemporary take on the story, the play draws parallels of how women today are being pulled in all directions just the way Draupadi was and the need for adjustment through all circumstances. The play also explores the relationship between Draupadi and Lord Krishna. Conceptualised by Shivani Pasrish, directed by Tina Johnson and Pasrish, the production boasts of big names with art work by Anjolie Ela Menon, costumes by Ritu Kumar and music by Shubha Mudgal.

Its raining gigs in town and this one comes with an inventive blues and funk sound. An improvisational band, Captain Crunch plays everything from funk to blues to R&B and is set to get the city crowd raving. Catch blues guitarist Floyd Fernandes from Mumbai jam it up with Naina Kundu of the Naina Kundu Trio and keyboardist Karan Joseph. The band has previously played across venues in the country and brings to the city an evening full of melody.
