The wall has obstructed ventilation, damaged the sewage line, leading to flooding of unhygienic water in his apartment; society claims they can't do anything about it
“Fighting soldiers is better than fighting dishonest society members.” This is what ex-serviceman M C Kunjumon has to say about his society members who have kept mum over a wall being constructed by a third party, which almost touches his bedroom window.

When the construction work on the wall began on October 24, MC Kunjumon (67), a resident of Chakravarti Ashok CHS, Andheri (East), wrote a letter to the society’s managing committee, raising concerns regarding the construction.
He claims that his complaints have not been taken seriously, as he’s opposing the redevelopment, which according to him is not fair. M C Kunjumon claims that the wall has blocked sunlight and has even obstructed ventilation in his apartment. The ongoing construction work has even damaged the glass windows, which do not open.
“No one is paying heed to my problem in the society. They claim that they can’t do anything, but a wall is being constructed within the compound of the society. Then why are they silent, in spite of me complaining to them about the same? The wall has blocked ventilation, damaged the sewage line, thus leading to flooding of sewage water inside my home. I am being harassed because I am against the redevelopment. I am being wronged and they are troubling me further.”

His complaint is that in the redevelopment proposal of the society, he is being offered seven square metres less than what others have been offered and is against the discrimination. For this, he has taken everyone to task and hence is being harassed. Kunjumon served the army as a Junior Commissioned Officer for five years, but left the army due to an injury.
He says that in the army, even the enemy is sincere as they follow orders unlike the members of his society where they are being dishonest with their own member. Kunjumon has even sent a complaint to the ward officer of K/East ward office to investigate whether the construction of the wall is being done with permission or not.
The other side
Both the chairman and secretary of the society refused to comment on the issue. BB Pawar, chairman of the society and Ramesh S, secretary, said that the government was constructing the wall and hence they couldn’t do anything about it. They asked the reporter to come and meet them.u00a0
