Nanda Kumar,u00a0 a 29-year-old dismissed constable and his associate, a junior artiste in the Kannada film industry, were arrested for robbing eunuchs and homosexuals at bus stands and railway stations.

Posing as a cop from the jurisdictional Upparpet police station, Kumar would catch 'law breakers' -- in particular eunuchs and homosexuals, and rob their valuables in return for their release. This was to ensure that his victims, who were already doing illegal acts, refrained from filing a complaint with the police. His luck ran out, when one of the victims approached the Upparpet police.

Based on the complaint, a team of police led by Inspector Lokeshwar trapped Nanda Kumar and recovered six mobile phones and other valuables worth Rs 25,000. Nanda Kumar used to share the loot with Manjunath, and spend lavishly on alcohol and prostitutes.
