Spiga, the swanky all-white restaurant, serves Italian, Mexican, Thai, and continental
Set high up on the swanky fourth floor roof terrace, Spiga excels on first impressions. The left hand side has a bar, with a small seating area. On the right is the larger extension of the restaurant part covered, part open to sky with sunlight peeping in. The lounge music adds that extra zing to the all-white lounge leather couch and wide tables. Nightime weekends at this place may however have a slightly different atmosphere with techno bleating out the speakers; not a place if you're planning a tranquil evening meal.

The recommended Round the Clock drink, a mixture of strawberry, mango and lemon, was refreshing and sweet. Expect a complimentary serving of Garlic bread served in the breadbasket on your table, while you wait on your order of the day. The menu has a great selection to choose from Italian, Mexican, Thai and continental. Dishes range from light to heavy with a choice of sandwiches, salads and soups or main meals.

The starter of Mexican Quesadillas, which is slices of Mexican pizza (Rs 150) did not turn out quite as expected.
It was meant to arrive with a salsa dip, but instead it came with a small bowl of onion and tomato in the center, with no juicy sauce to compliment the dry and bland sweetcorn, cheese and tomato topped Quesadillas.
The service is quite quick and efficient, even on a busy day. Our main course ofu00a0 Mediterranean Chicken (Rs 240 for a plate of seared chicken, red peppers, feta, mash and pasta), supposedly a popular choice here, arrived the moment we were done with our starters. The chicken was covered in a garlic and herb sauce, which was pleasant in flavour, but far too oily. The red peppers as described on the menu became sun-dried tomatoes on the plate (but we're not complaining), as they paired really well with the feta and chicken. The meat itself however, was slightly overcooked and the mashed potato underneath was a sloppy mess.
The Olive Fish (Rs 280) is a plate of fresh tender sea bass, with olives and pinenuts and dollops of white wine in mint sauce adding to flavour. The grilled fish comes with rice cooked with spinach on the side. The unconventional Oreo Cookie Cheese Cake (Rs 120) is delicious, with a thick layer of crumbling Oreo along the bottom and a thin layer of cream cheese on the top. All the dishes are quite reasonably priced in relation to the quality of the food, some main course dishes costing less than starters.

Ambience: The restaurant is very stylish and modern looking, with a spacious minimalist feel. This is probably one of the best things about Spiga, making it a great place to stop by with a group of friends. The music is relaxed and slow lounge, making a great atmosphere for relaxing upstairs away from all the traffic. Though for those slightly hard of hearing and not great at lip reading, the music is slightly on the louder side.
The restaurant is very stylish and contemporary, with a spacious minimalist feel.
