The deceased, Madhumita (27), was married to a techie workingu00a0 with an IT major. The incident occurred when the she was alone at her home in BGS Layout, Ejipura. Neighbours discovered her bleeding profusely on the ground floor and informed her husband, who in turn called the police. She was rushed to Bowring hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The police, after preliminary inquiries, ruled out any involvement of her husband. Nayaz Ahmed, SPI of Viveknagar police station said, "Madhumita was being treated for the past month. Dejection over her health might have driven her to take the extreme step. We have sent the body for post mortem and are awaiting the report."
