PDP Chief Abdul Nasser Madani has been brought back from Coorg where he was taken by the Central Crime Branch (CCB), to conduct a spot investigation.
The CCB have also taken statements of witnesses about Madani and his alleged visit to Coorg.
Accused is ill!
A source said that the tour to Coorg has not yielded much, and has also caused a health upset to Madani. Madani who is suffering from several ailments has complained of deteriorating health, said officials.
However, the police took him to the hospital soon after arriving in the city and consulted a pediatrician before taking him back to their location where he will be housed for further questioning.
Grilling session
Officials, not satisfied with the questioning, are planning to grill Madani's gunman and two personal bodyguards to know more about his whereabouts, before and after the Bangalore serial blasts. Notices have been served to them.
The police are also planning to produce other blast accused, face to face with Madani to cross verify their statements.

So far, the police have not got any leads to work on, except some evidence they gathered against Madani based on the kingpin T Nazeer's confession.
However, during the preliminary investigations, Madani has refuted the allegation stating that he is nowhere involved in the Bangalore blasts and his affiliation with Nazeer is only as a visitor to his residence, like many others.

Madani was the main accused in the Coimbatore serial blasts case in 1998 in which 58 people were killed hours before BJP leader LK Advani was to address an election meeting. He was, however, acquitted by a trial court in the case.
