A 16-year-old boy died after falling into a three-and-a-half -metre deep pit near a construction site at Wadala yesterday at around 3.30 pm

The teenager was playing cricket with his friends when he accidentally fell into the pit. “There was some construction work which was going on for the past three months.

The work had been put on hold because of the heavy downpour since the last few days, so water may have accumulated in the pit,” said a police officer from Wadala Truck Terminal Police Station. Locals rushed the boy to Sion hospital where he was declared dead on arrival. The police is investigating the matter.u00a0
