Victim gets knocked down near Kasarwadi flyover; suffers multiple injuries

The urgency to recharge the mobile an hour before midnight proved costly for a woman in her twenties.

In an accident that took place near Kasarwadi flyover, the victim Rukshana Sheikh and her sister were approaching a shop to recharge the prepaid amount on her mobile when a biker knocked her down.

The accident left Rukshana seriously injured. After this incident, Rukshana's sister immediately called the locals for help.

A resident living nearby helped Rukshana's sister to rush her to Yashwantrao Chavan Memorial Hospital (YCM).
Rukshana's sister told MiD DAY, "We were about to enter the underground subway near Kasarwadi to reach the nearest shop to recharge the mobile. We suddenly noticed a two-wheeler coming from the opposite direction speeding towards us. Before we could react, he had already hit us."

Injuries
"My sister has suffered multiple injuries. I am worried about her well being, as there is an injury near her eye as well," she added. "We suspect that the biker was riding under the influence of alcohol."

Rukshana's brother, who rushed to the hospital, said, "The speed breaker has been recently constructed near the subway at Kasarwadi. Not many know about this, and I believe that is the reason why the biker must have lost his balance."

Minutes later, the two-wheeler driver was also brought to YCM Hospital.

However, before we could approach him he lost his consciousness.

The on-duty medical officeru00a0 at YCM hospital, said, "We will take the X-ray ofu00a0 the patient to analyse the nature of the injuries."
