If your girlfriend's text messages have started reading, "Honey, since I have spent your money in almost all the 'eatable' eateries in Delhi, why don't we try Gurgaon tonight?", you know your dinning days with her at that friendly Def Col joint are over. Gear up for the amount of fuel, road rage, time and 'courage' it takes to reach Gurgaon. To make the ordeal worthwhile, I suggest you one place that'll help.

Great serve: The decorative copper kadhais at the buffet counter are unmissable

Food
The display board read 'Momo Cafe' and I saw three live kitchen counters of parantha, pasta and dosa each. Life, as they say, is full of ironies. I was informed the name doesn't stand for momos, but for the first two letters of 'modern'. Weird analogy. But indeed, this multi-cuisine diner is modern; especially the dessert corner, which has many options, like the baked New York cheesecake, honeycomb parfait and chocolate orange marquise. But it wouldn't look good to start with the afters, so I ordered creamy risotto with saute rocket (yeah, you read that right), paneer tikka, kebab platter and some salads. Then, I graduated to the main course with dal makhni, sabzion ka sangam and pineapple raita. The ones I didn't try were the vegetarian and non-vegetarian kebabs, sandwiches, lasagne, breakfast options and the biryanis. You can alsou00a0 make your own pizza or pasta, if none of the rest reads appetising. And don't forget to dig into the dosas.u00a0

Drink
They stock most decent liquor brands. I tried single malt, wine and vodka, and my dining partner opted for the cocktailsu00a0-- daiquiri, bloody mary and caprioshka. All smooth, not too strong. Teetotalers should try their fruit punch, virgin mojito and cool breeze. None of the preparations disappoint.

Ambience
Every cuisine has a separate, massive buffet counter, which makes the choosing comfortable. The decorative copper kadhais, are a stand-out. There's a rich corporate crowd on a typical day, and the mish-mash menu takes good care of their varied tastes. I can hardly remember the music, but I'm sure it will give your girlfriend another reason to admire your choice.u00a0u00a0
