Majoj Tiwari is Samajwadi Party's official nominee for the Gorakhpur Lok Sabha seat and the rally was organised to launch his poll campaign in the city.u00a0
Local authorities ruled out any foul play in the collapse of the platform which they attributed to "weak structuring".
Sashikant Singh, publicist for Manoj Tiwari confirmed the accident and said that no one was hurt in the accident.
Earlier this month Tiwari, Amar Singh and Jaya Bachchan had gone to Gorakhpur for a rally but were not allowed by the police who said they had issued prohibitory orders in the city fearing a law and order problem.
