ABIDe (Agenda for Bangalore Development), a taskforce set up by CM Yeddyurappa, which is currently working on 'Plan Bengaluru 2020', has called upon the citizens to actively take part in building a better Bangalore.

ABIDe (Agenda for Bangalore Development), a taskforce set up by CM Yeddyurappa, which is currently working on 'Plan Bengaluru 2020', has called upon the citizens to actively take part in building a better Bangalore.

Through this unique initiative, the task force aims at utilising the service of people from various walks of life, and according to their experience and expertise. "It's all for a change. Active public participation helps build a better Bangalore," said Prof M N Srihari, special advisor to CM and member of ABIDe.

Bengaluru Vedike

ABIDe has 23 members including prominent personalities like BIOCON MD Kiran Mazumdhar Shaw, MP Rajiv Chandrashekar, Dr Devi Shetty and heads of all local service providers. To become a member and be a part of the online forum , Bengaluru Vedike, one can log on to the website (www.bengaluruvedike.com) and fill in the application form available on the site. The website provides information on the silicon city, plans and projections mooted for the next 11 years. It also furnishes updates on ongoing infrastructure projects in the city.

ABIDe, under Plan Bengaluru 2020, has formulated several action plans and blueprints in the areas of Govern Bengaluru, Road Traffic Management and Transportation, Urban poor and Secure Bengaluru.u00a0u00a0u00a0

"This is an initiative to build a better Bengaluru for its citizens by adopting a new urban planning model, upgrading infrastructure, improving basic facilities to create a better environment for a quality life," said Rajiv Chandrashekar, convenor, ABIDe.u00a0
