A 16-year-old girl allegedly died by suicide on Wednesday after her father denied her permission to visit a village fair in Jharkhand's Palamu district, police said.

Her body was found hanging from the ceiling of her room in Bairohi village in Chattarpur police station area, an officer said.
The girl''s body was sent to Medinirai Medical College and Hospital for post-mortem examination and an investigation is underway, the officer added.
