In West Bengal's Howrah, five persons have been arrested and 102 kg of ganja has been seized from their possession, reported news wire PTI.

Acting on a tip-off, police intercepted an onion-laden truck coming from Odisha at Sankrail Industrial Park in Dhulagarh and seized the contraband worth around Rs 50 lakh from the vehicle on Saturday, a police officer said.
Five occupants of the vehicle were arrested in the case and further investigation was underway.

Meanwhile, in Telangana, a total of four quintals (400 kg) of ganja was seized by police and eight persons from Haryana, who were allegedly transporting the narcotic substance were arrested, police said on Saturday, reported PTI. The action took place in Bhadradri Kothagudem district of Telangana.
A police team during vehicle checking at Bhadrachalam found the ganja concealed in plastic trays and doormats in a private bus and was being transported to Hyderabad from Odisha's Malkangiri district by the eight persons.
PTI reported added that the seized ganja worth over Rs one crore in the grey market was bought by the accused from Odisha and was being transported to Hyderabad for distribution, Bhadradri Kothagudem District Superintendent of Police B Rohith Raju said.
A case was registered under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act and further investigation is on.
In another action in the country against illegal drugs supply, In a joint operation, the Assam Rifles and Customs Preventive Force of Champhai in Mizoram recovered and seized 90 bags of poppy seeds weighing 5400 kg at the Zokhawthar area in Champhai district and arrested two.
According to Assam Rifles, the market value of the seized poppy seeds is about Rs 19.44 lakh, reported ANI.
A press statement issued by the PRO of IGAR (East) said that, based on specific information, the operation was carried out by a combined team of Assam Rifles with representatives of the Customs Preventive Force, Champhai, in the general area of Melbuk Road junction, Zokhawthar, in Champhai district on February 15.
