"The accused then took out a surgical blade and stabbed Prem Kumar in the face repeatedly and fled from the spot. Seeing them fighting, the girl also fled from the spot. Man kills wife, sleeps with body
It probably couldn't have gone bizarre than this. A man allegedly strangled his 28-year-old wife and then slept with her body the whole night. It was only when the neighbours informed the police that something was amiss at the man's place that this incident came to light.

DCP (Central) Vivek Kishore said the murder was committed on Tuesday night while police got a call in this connection on Wednesday afternoon. "The deceased Shivani used to live with her husband Govind in Ranjit Nagar. On Tuesday, after having their dinner, the couple had a heated argument and in a fit of rage Govind strangled Shivani with her chunni. He then slept with the body the whole night. Next day, he left his home to meet his brother. Govind told his brother that Shivani was ill and wanted him to look into the matter. He then brought his brother to his house.u00a0 However, his brother figured out what had happened and he in turn called some neighbours who informed the police," said he.

The body bore strangulation mark around the neck and it was sent to nearby hospital for postmortem. "A case has been registered and investigation is on," said Kishore. Govind, who runs a tailor shop in the area, had married Shivani around five year back. "They often used to quarrel over petty issues. When we arrested Govind, he gave contradictory statements but during interrogation he broke down and confessed to having murdered his wife," said a senior police official.
