As stories about the sleep and win scandals in MTV's Splitsvilla 2 shocked the nation, members of the National Akali Dal held a demonstration against sleaze being aired on the Idiot Box.
Hundred of protestors, led by National Akali Dal President Paramjeet Singh Pamma, gathered at Jantar Mantar
and shouted slogans like "Ban MTV, Stop Nudity, Ban Reality Shows." They burnt posters of Splitsvilla as well.
"It is a matter of regret that the government is not keeping a check on these reality shows, which provoke indecent behaviour in our society," said Pamma.
"This is a case of exploitation of women. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting should bring the wrongdoers to book and ban any series or channel engaging in frivolous, mindless and sensational pursuits fed by glamour gluttony and semi-clad seduction," said the protesters.
