Water cut in Mumbai: The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Friday announced that the civic officials began the repair works of damaged water pipe lines in the city.

In a post on X, the BMC wrote, "Repairing a leak on 600mm dia Pipeline near Motiwala Jewellers, RK Patkar Road and Guru Nanak Road Junction, Bandra West, on 17/11/23. Water supply to H-West Ward will be deferred during this work. Residents, kindly use stored water judiciously and cooperate with us."
The civic body also shared a short video of the water leakage in Bandra west area of Mumbai.

The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) had on Thursday announced a 10 percent water cut in the city for 12 days starting from November 20 for carrying out repairs.
Emergency repairs would be carried out from November 20 to December 2 at the pneumatic gate system installed at the Pise Weir in neighbouring Thane district, from where water is pumped to Mumbai, it said in a release.
Air bladders in the gate system would be replaced as part of the repairs.
"During this period, water supply to the Mumbai Metropolitan City and BMC's water supply to Thane and Bhiwandi Municipal Corporation will be affected," the BMC said.
The civic body appealed people to use water judiciously during this period.
Water cut in Thane
The Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) has also announced a 10% water cut in several zones due to the work of replacing the air bladder in the pneumatic gate system at Pise, an official statement said on Friday
The work will be carried out from November 20 to December 2, 2023, which will result in a reduction of water level in the Bhatsa River Grind Bandharyatoon dam. The affected zones include Kopri, Hajuri, Gavdevi, Panchpakhadi, Tekdibangla, Kisannagar 1-2, Bhatwadi or Bhagt. Additionally, there will be a 10 per cent shortage of water available due to the reduction in the water level.
"Citizens are urged to make necessary arrangements for water storage," the statement said.
