Amid the Covid-19 pandemic in Mumbai, an alert police official saved the life of a woman who had jumped in front of an approaching local train at Dadar railway station on Friday.

The woman, an accused in a case, was being accompanied by cops at Dadar station. On seeing a local train approaching, she allegedly attempted a daring escape by jumping on the tracks and run to the other side.

However, she lost her balance and fell on the tracks. Assistant Police Inspector Arjun Ghanvat showed alertness and jumped after her in an effort to push her off the tracks . Meanwhile, the motorman of the approaching local train also applied emergency brakes to stop the train and avoid a mishap.

Commuters present at the station rushed to help the woman and the cop onto the platform.
The entire incident was captured on the CCTV installed at the station.
