Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray flagged off a rally of vintage cars at Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) on Sunday. The rally was a part of the 21-day Mumbai Festival ending on February 14.

The rally was supported by Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation and Things 2do. It had 130 vintage cars and 65 two-wheelers, as per Western India Automobile Association (WIAA), reports The Indian Express.

State Tourism Minister Aaditya Thackeray said a vintage car museum in Mumbai was on the cards. “The response was tremendous with all automobile fans! We are looking forward to making a museum for vintage cars in Mumbai soon!” Aaditya Thackeray said in a tweet.

Nitin Dossa, executive chairman of WIAA, said, “This was the biggest event in Maharashtra in the automobile sector since (the Covid-19 pandemic). It was carried out following safety protocols and maintaining distance. There were smiles on many faces,” Dossa said.

The rare cars stole the show at the event, some of them were a 1934 Packard 8 Tourer, a 1948 Lincoln v12 and a 1961 Ford Thunderbird from Viveck Goenka, chairman, The Indian Express Group, and a 1912 Detroiter, a 1912 Wolseley and a 1927 Rolls Royce from Gautam Singhania, chairman and managing director, Raymond Group.
