The SIT arrested two alleged accused in the Ghatkopar hoarding collapse incident. The crime branch arrested both the accused from Goa. The alleged accused are identified as Janhvi Marathe and Sagar Patil. The police will present them in court on Sunday. Marathe had applied for anticipatory bail and the sessions court had rejected her plea. She was absconding as her anticipatory bail was rejected.


The SIT has made four arrests in the Ghatkopar hoarding collapse incident which claimed 17 lives on May 13. According to SIT, Marathe was the director of EGO Media from its inception in 2020 till December 2023, after which the prime accused Bhavesh Bhinde took over as the director. “The tender of the billboard was passed during her tenure,” the police said.


According to SIT, Patil was an employee of EGO Media and the billboard was made under his supervision, “He knew the structure was faulty and hence, we arrested him,” the police said. The police had previously apprehended Manoj Sanghu, 47, who had allegedly given the stability certificate to the billboard in April 2023.
