Passing by the BMC headquarters, have you ever wondered about the history of the iconic structure built over a century ago? If yes, then you can get all your answers and that too from inside the heritage building.

Starting Sunday, the gates  of the BMC’s headquarters, located at CSMT, will be opened for the public to take a heritage walk. People can take a tour of the building after an advance booking. Tickets for the weekly guided tour will be available on BookMyShow, said officials, adding that each visit will cost just Rs 300.

Ahead of the public opening, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray will inaugurate the heritage walk initiative on Thursday.

The managing director of the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC), Ashutosh Salil, said, “Rs 300 will be charged and the bookings will be made available on BookMyShow for which the link will be made available on our official website.”

Civic officials said the BMC will have no role in the initiative, and that the MTDC and its appointed tour operators are in charge of the pricing and tour operations. BMC will allow a limited number of visitors twice a day.
