Police have arrested two persons for stealing mobile phones in Maharashtra's Thane district and seized 24 stolen mobile phones from their possession, an official told news agency PTI on Thursday.

There were a number of complaints in the recent past of theft of mobile phones from public places and homes of people, senior police inspector Sandeep Kadam from Kashimira police station told PTI.
A police probe team checked the CCTV footage and also worked on technical and intelligence inputs before nabbing the two accused in Thane city on Saturday, he said.
Following their interrogation, the police seized 24 stolen mobile phone handsets worth around Rs 1.5 lakh from their possession over the last two days, the official told PTI.
In another case, unidentified persons allegedly broke into a flat in Dombivli township of Maharashtra's Thane district and stole jewellery and other valuables worth Rs 7.38 lakh, police told PTI on Thursday.
The incident took place on Wednesday afternoon when a 27-year-old man, his wife and parents, residing in a flat on the third floor of a building in Desle Pada area, went to a relative's house for the Raksha Bandhan celebration, an official from Manpada police station in Dombivli told PTI.
When the family returned home, the man found his door lock broken and jewellery and other items missing from a cupboard, he said.
The stolen goods were worth Rs 7.38 lakh, the official told PTI.
The police have registered a case against unidentified persons under Indian Penal Code sections 454 (lurking house-trespass or house breaking in order to commit offence) and 380 (theft), the official told PTI, adding a probe is on into the case.
Meanwhile, unidentified persons broke into a warehouse in Bhiwandi area of Thane district and stole goods worth Rs 14,99,540, police told PTI on Wednesday.
According to PTI, the incident took place on the intervening night of August 27 and 28 at Arihant Compound in Kalher. The stolen goods included mobile phones and watches.
Following a complaint filed by an official of Radiant 3PL Solutions, a case was registered under Indian Penal Code sections 454 (house break-in in order to commit offence) and 380 (theft), an official of Narpoli police station told PTI.
Probe is underway, he added.
