He also accused Aaditya Thackeray of recommending to his father and then Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray the reinstatement of Sachin Vaze in the police force.
"The Thackeray Government is solely responsible for major businesses like Vedanta, Foxconn, Airbus, Tata, and Bulk Drug Park moving out of Maharashtra," Samant said in his post on the microblogging site X.
He further said that Maharashtra lost investors' confidence after the 'Vaze incident,' wherein a reinstated police officer planted a car filled with explosives near the residence of an industrialist in the city.
Reinstating Sachin Vaze
"Sachin Vaze, who was dismissed from police service, was reinstated into the force in 2020 after being suspended for his alleged involvement in a custodial death. Those aware have confirmed that Aditya Thackeray recommended CM Uddhav Thackeray to reinstate Vaze," Samant said.
The Shiv Sena leader also alleged that Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut was instrumental in forming the coalition government and gave protection to Vaze on behalf of the party. He was described as “honest and capable”.
"Thereafter, Vaze planted a car filled with gelatin sticks/explosives in February 2021 under the residence of the most respected business family in India. MP Sanjay Raut (architect of MVA government) in March 2021 protected Vaze and called him an "honest and capable” officer," he said.
"This incident sent shock waves in the business world and was one of the reasons for the loss of confidence in the state. It also tarnished the image of Mumbai as a safe destination for business. The overwhelming support to Vaze by the Thackeray Government had demoralized businesses and investors," Samant said.
He further said that the overwhelming support given to Vaze by the Thackeray government had demoralized businesses and investors, and because of this, big businessmen decided to move out of Maharashtra. "The Thackeray government played a major role in driving out industries from the state of Maharashtra. The events of Vaze and the political patronage given to them will have a lasting impact on Maharashtra as a safe place for business and investment," he added.
The Industries said that, but, through various decisions and policies taken by the Eknath Shinde-led government in the last year, we are now gaining the confidence of investors. "Instead of politicising big projects, he should apologize to the people of the state for losing the trust and confidence of the investors in the state government," he added.
