State Reserve Police Force sentinel on Mantralaya duty shoots himself dead

A 36-year-old constable of the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) allegedly shot himself dead at a school in Dongri after finishing his night shift on Tuesday.


Pushkar Shinde, a main gate sentinel of Mantralaya was rushed to JJ Hospital where he passed away receiving treatment.



His contingent was posted at Mantralaya from January 6; therefore, he had made his accommodation arrangements at a BMC school in Dongri where the incident took place.


Shinde was attached to the State Reserve Police Force (SRPF), Pune and allegedly died by suicide on Tuesday morning after finishing is night shift on Monday, officials said.

Cops said Shinde shot himself in the neck with an SLR rifle.
