Senior consultant with Jupiter Hospital, Thane, Dr Vijay Surase, who has worked as an honorary consultant to the Maharashtra police, Mantralaya, and the Governor of Maharashtra is generously donating medical equipment to and strengthening the battle against coronavirus.

2,000 PPE kits, 2,000 face shields and sanitisers for Grant Medical College, 10,000 paper bags for KEM Hospital’s health care workers, distribution of scouts and NCC uniforms, setting up laboratory and library for Deolana village in Aurangabad district of Maharashtra where he belongs to and more. Surase, who became a doctor following his mother’s illness, during his growing years, says, “These are difficult times and I do my bit for the society. PPE kits, face shields, sanitisers are today’s lifesavers and it is just a small contribution to my own fraternity. Patience in all the situations especially in the difficult and challenging situations can undoubtedly show the right way ahead. Just staying alive means success in such circumstances.”
Dr Surase, who has set up a registered charitable trust in his own name explains, “The trust aims at strengthening the rural fabric of health, education, sanitation and basic infrastructural needs for quality and safe living. We support orphaned children’s surgeries, poor women, helping underprivileged women in their maternity care and post-delivery basic care provision for their infants. In addition to this, we are also into sectoral rural development, inter-village and intra-village safe connectivity, construction of water storage tanks, toilets and public healthcare centres,” he said.
“In November 2020, we completed three successful years of genuine service and now are trying to extend our helping hand by broadening the scope of support activities to help more deserving. These include help achieve dignity, nutrition, health, sanitation, education and more for the underprivileged children,” he said.
