The Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation (MRVC) announced a six-hour-long block on the Mumbai- bound corridor of the Mumbai-Pune Expressway on Thursday for the Panvel-Karjat double line railway project.


Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation (MSRDC) said in a release that the roadblock will be implemented from 11 am to 5 pm on November 9.


Light and heavy vehicles won't be allowed on the Mumbai-bound carriageway at Chikhale near Kalamboli where a Rail Over Bridge (ROB) is being erected as part of the railway project, news agency PTI reported quoting an MRVC official. The roadblock has been mainly undertaken for launching girders, he added.


Motorists travelling towards Mumbai can exit on the old Mumbai-Pune Highway (MH-48) at Khopoli and Panvel, the release said.

Meanwhile, the Western Railway has said that it will run five more pairs of festival special trains and almost 6 lakh passengers are likely to benefit by these special trains.

In an official statement, the Western Railway said that till date 344 trips of festival special trains are being run by the Western Railway to various destinations in the country.

It said, for the convenience of passengers and with a view to meet the travel demand during the upcoming festive season, Western Railway is running 344 trips of Festival Special Trains on Special Fare to various destinations.

According to a press release issued by Sumit Thakur – Chief Public Relations Officer of Western Railway, five pairs of Festival Special trains that have been notified include Sabarmati - Danapur, Vadodara - Haridwar, Vadodara - Gorakhpur, Dr. Ambedkar Nagar - Patna and Ahmedabad – Samastipur Festival Special trains. With running of these Festival Special trains, almost 6 lakh passengers will be benefitted especially during this festive season. Details of the festival special trains are as under:

  1. Train No. 09403/09404 Sabarmati - Danapur Superfast Special (Weekly) [6 Trips]

Train No. 09403 Sabarmati - Danapur Superfast Special will depart from Sabarmati every Sunday at 08.15 hrs. and reach Danapur at 14.15 hrs. the next day. This train will run from 12th November, 2023 to 26th November, 2023. Similarly, Train No. 09404 Danapur - Sabarmati Superfast Special will depart from Danapur every Monday at 18.00 hrs. and reach Sabarmati at 23.30 hrs the next day. This train will run from 13th November, 2023 to 27th November, 2023.

Enroute this train will halt at Mahesana, Palanpur, Abu Road, Ajmer, Jaipur, Bandikui, Bharatpur, Achhnera, Agra Fort, Tundla, Etawah, Kanpur Central, Prayagraj, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, Buxar and Ara stations in both direction.

This train comprises of AC 2-Tier, AC 3-Tier, Sleeper Class and General Second Class Coaches.

  1. Train No. 09129/09130 Vadodara - Haridwar Superfast Special (Weekly) [6 Trips]

Train No. 09129 Vadodara - Haridwar Superfast Special will depart from Vadodara every Saturday at 19.00 hrs. and reach Haridwar at 14.30 hrs. the next day. This train will run from 11th November, 2023 to 25th November, 2023. Similarly, Train No. 09130 Haridwar – Vadodara Superfast Special will depart from Haridwar every Sunday at 17.20 hrs. and reach Vadodara at 11.25 hrs. the next day. This train will run from 12th November, 2023 to 26th November, 2023. 

Enroute this train will halt at Godhra, Dahod, Ratlam, Kota, Gangapur City, Mathura, Hazrat Nizamuddin, Gaziabad, Meerut City, Muzaffarnagar, Tapri and Roorkee stations in both direction.

This train comprises of First AC, AC 2-Tier, AC 3-Tier, Sleeper Class and General Second Class Coaches.

  1. Train No. 09101/09102 Vadodara – Gorakhpur Special (Weekly) [6 Trips]

Train No. 09101 Vadodara – Gorakhpur Special will depart from Vadodara every Monday at 19.00 hrs. and reach Gorakhpur at 23.30 hrs. the next day. This train will run from 13th November,2023 to 27th November, 2023. Similarly, Train No 09102 Gorakhpur - Vadodara Special will depart from Gorakhpur every Wednesday at 05.00 hrs. and reach Vadodara at 08.35 hrs. the next day. This train will run from 15th November, 2023 to 29th November, 2023.

Enroute this train will halt at Godhra, Ratlam, Kota, Sawai Madhopur, Gangapur City, Bharatpur, Achhnera, Agra Fort, Tundla, Shikohabad, Mainpuri, Farrukhabad, Kanpur, Lucknow, Bara Banki, Gonda and Basti stations in both direction.

This train comprises of First AC, AC 2-Tier, AC 3-Tier, Sleeper Class and General Second Class Coaches.

  1. Train No. 09343/09344 Dr. Ambedkar Nagar – Patna Special (Weekly) [8 Trips]

Train No. 09343 Dr. Ambedkar Nagar – Patna Special will depart from Dr. Ambedkar Nagar every Thursday at 18.30 hrs. and reach Patna at 18.30 hrs. the next day. This train will run from 9th November, 2023 to 30th November, 2023. Similarly, Train No. 09344 Patna – Dr. Ambedkar Nagar Special will depart from Patna every Friday at 21.30 hrs. and reach Dr. Ambedkar Nagar at 23.55 hrs. the next day. This train will run from 10th November, 2023 to 1st December, 2023.

Enroute this train will halt at Indore, Fatehabad Chandrawatiganj, Ujjain, Maksi, Sant Hirdaram Nagar, Vidisha, Bina, Saugor, Damoh, Katni Murwara, Satna, Manikpur, Prayagraj Chheoki, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, Buxar, Ara & Danapur stations in both direction.

This train comprises of AC 2-Tier, AC 3-Tier, Sleeper Class and General Second Class Coaches.

  1. Train No. 09413/09414 Ahmedabad – Samastipur Special (Weekly) [8 Trips]

Train No. 09413 Ahmedabad – Samastipur Special will depart from Ahmedabad every Thursday at 15.30 hrs. and reach Samastipur at 04.00 hrs. on Saturday. This train will run from 9th November, 2023 to 30th November, 2023. Similarly, Train No. 09414 Samastipur - Ahmedabad Special will depart from Samastipur every Saturday at 08.15 hrs. and reach Ahmedabad at 22.45 hrs. the next day. This train will run from 11th November, 2023 to 2nd December 2023. 

Enroute this train will halt at Vadodara, Surat, Nandurbar, Bhusaval, Khandwa, Itarsi, Jabalpur, Katni, Satna, Manikpur, Prayagraj Chheoki, Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, Buxar, Ara, Patna and Barauni stations in both direction.

This train comprises of AC 2-Tier, AC 3-Tier, Sleeper Class and General Second Class Coaches.

"The Booking for Train Nos. 09343 and 09413 will open from 8th November and Train Nos. 09403, 09129 and 09101, will open from 9th November, 2023 at all PRS Counters and on IRCTC website. The above trains will run as special trains on a special fare," the Western Railway said on Tuesday.
