Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut on Friday said that a resolution has been passed and four main committees have been formed during the meeting of the INDIA alliance in Mumbai, ANI report stated. “We have passed some important resolutions too. INDIA Alliance Coordination Committee - a 14-member committee - has been structured," Raut said.

According to the ANI report, the 14-member Coordination Committee and Election Strategy Committee includes KC Venugopal (Congress), Sharad Pawar (Nationalist Congress Party), TR Baalu (DMK), Hemant Soren (JMM) and Sanjay Raut. The other members of this committee are Tejashwi Yadav (RJD), Abhishek Banerjee (TMC), Raghav Chadha (AAP), Samajwadi Party’s Javed Ali Khan, JDU’s Lalan Singh, CPI’s General secretary D Raja, Mehbooba Mufti, Omar Abdullah and another member from CPI (M) will soon be announced.

Raut added that the four main committees formed—Campaigning committee, working group of the social media committee, working group of media and working group of research—members of all political have been included.

The constituent parties in the Opposition INDIA alliance had earlier on Friday announced that they have decided to contest the 2024 Lok Sabha polls together “as far as possible”. "We, the INDIA parties, hereby resolve to contest the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections together as far as possible. Seat-sharing arrangements in different states will be initiated immediately and concluded at the earliest in a collaborative spirit of give-and-take," said the resolution passed in the third meeting of the bloc.

The resolution also mentioned that parties will organize public rallies across India on issues of public concern and importance and that they will be coordinating among themselves on political communication and media strategies. Their campaign is based on the theme ‘Judega Bharat, Jiteega Bharat’ (India will unite, India will win) across languages.

On Friday, the third formal meeting of the Opposition bloc INDIA alliance began at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Mumbai with the aim of mapping the plan for the upcoming General Assembly elections. The first meeting of the joint Opposition was held in Patna on June 23 and the second meeting in Bengaluru on July 17 and 18. Significantly, this was the first meeting held in a state where no party from the INDIA alliance was in power.
