A part of the wall collapsed near platform no 2, Dutt Mandir road in Thane (West) railway station, as per the Thane Municipal Corporation (TMC) official.


The incident occurred around 3.53 pm on Thursday afternoon. The information abot the incident was received by the Disaster Management Cell of TMC.



"A railway safety wall of approximately 20 feet long and 6 feet high, has fallen near Platform No. 2 at Thane (W). Deputy Engineer and Junior Engineer (Naupada Ward Committee) of Public Works Department and staff of Disaster Management Cell were present at the said incident site," informed the TMC official.


"For safety reasons, the disaster management department staff has barricaded the place," added the official.
