In the wake of rising Covid-19 cases in the country, India Wide Parents Association has written to the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) to reconsider holding offline board exams. The body has requested for an alternate mode of assessment. While non-state boards have already held terminal exams, the state board has no plans to cancel the offline mode exam as yet.

“Cases are rising and medical infrastructure is also collapsing in most of the states. Many teachers and students are not fully vaccinated due to which there are more chances of spread. Students and parents are requesting [the state] to adopt an alternate mode of assessment instead of physical/offline mode. Students can be assessed and evaluated via internal assessment. Many countries are following this mode of assessment for the safety of students,” states the letter.
