A 25-year-old man was killed and another injured after a scooter they were riding collided with dumper a dumper in Sion on February 26. Sion police has registered a case against the driver of the dumper.

According to the details in the FIR, Vishal Balmiki, accompanied by his friend Abhishek Shahu (25), was riding the scooter in an inebriated state, roaming the southern part of Mumbai. At approximately 2:15 am, a dumper, making a left turn, collided with their two-wheeler.
The impact of the collision proved fatal for Abhishek Shahu, who succumbed to his injuries despite receiving immediate medical attention at Sion Hospital. Vishal Balmiki, meanwhile, sustained severe injuries.
Police has booked the driver of the dumper after recording the statement of Vishal Balmiki while an unknown person has been booked under section 279 (Rash Driving), 304 ( death by negligence) and other relevant sections of the Motor Vehicle Act.
