Body of a 17-year-old college student was found in a playground of Kopar Khairane on Wednesday morning. 


The deceased, identified as Sahil Shantaram Gole was in 12th grade. The Kopar Khairane police are in process of registering murder offence against unknown persons.

On Wednesday morning, cops were informed about a body by the morning walkers in Bhumiputra play ground at Kopar Khairane, sector 23. Senior Inspector Pradeep Tidar immediately rushed to the spot with his team. Sahil was a resident of Kopar Khairane sector 15. "There was a big stone lying beside him and his face was covered with blood, we suspect someone crushed his face with that stone," told an official on condition of anonymity. 

Sahil was a student at Yashwantrao Chavhan Junior College, Kopar Khairane. Tuesday night he left home on pretext of meeting his friends. He was also working part time in a company.
