A magistrate in Kushinagar then remanded the murder case accused to judicial custody

The Panvel City Police have arrested a 25-year-old man who fled from Uttar Pradesh police custody while being treated at a hospital. He was arrested in connection with a murder case and had declared a reward of Rs 50,000 to trace and arrest him.

The police said that the arrested accused, identified as Praveen alias Pradeep Ramazor Pal, aged 25, is a resident of Inayat Nagar in Ayodhya. Pal was booked by Ramkola police in Khushinagar district under Sections 302 (murder) and 506 of the Indian Penal Code.
"After being remanded in judicial custody by the Magistrate, Kushinagar, the accused was lodged in the District Jail, Deoria, Uttar Pradesh. On November 1, 2022, he was taken to the District Hospital in Deoria for treatment, and he escaped from there. Accordingly, he was booked under Sections 223 and 224 of the Indian Penal Code against him at Kotwali Police Station and a search operation to trace him was launched. The Superintendent of Police, Deoria had also announced a reward of Rs 50,000," said a police officer.

The police said STF Varanasi officers and enforcers received confidential and technical information that the accused is hiding in the Panvel Railway Station area within Panvel Police Station (city) limits.
"They sought police help from Panvel city police following which Deputy Commissioner of Police, Zone 2 and Assistant Commissioner of Police, Panvel ordered a search of the accused. According to guidance and orders of the superiors, the police officers and enforcers of the crime detection team of Panvel started the work to help the STF Varanasi team. The accused was found in the vicinity of the railway station and detained," the cop said.
PSI of Panvel station, Nitin Thakre said, "The accused had been absconding from Uttar Pradesh for last four months. Per the information, a search was carried out a with the help of Varanasi STF and the accused was taken into custody. The accused has been handed over to the concerned officials who will further take transit remand and take him back to Uttar Pradesh."
