There was only one death; state sees marginal rise in both cases and fatalities

The test positivity rate (TPR) of Mumbai saw a marginal drop on Tuesday after witnessing a rising trend for two days, at 0.66 per cent. It had been the same on Sunday. There was a marginal rise in new cases but the number remained below 200. As per the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) report, there were 196 new cases along with one death.

The deceased had comorbidities and was above 60 years of age. The doubling rate significantly improved and was 2,526 days on Tuesday.
The city’s recovery rate remained constant at 97 per cent as 258 people recovered and were discharged on Tuesday.
The state saw a marginal rise in new cases and fatalities. As per the state health department report, 766 cases were reported along with 19 deaths.

The state’s case fatality rate remained constant at 2.12 per cent as 929 recovered and got discharged on Tuesday. Currently the state has 9,493 active cases.
The Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) also saw a marginal rise in new cases.
As per the state report, 310 cases were reported in the MMR including cases from Mumbai.
Apart from Mumbai, Thane Municipal Corporation reported the maximum number of daily cases in the MMR with 26 new cases. It was followed by Kalyan-Dombivli which reported 22 cases.
While Navi Mumbai and Vasai-Virar reported 17 cases each, 11 cases were registered in Raigad and Panvel had 18 cases.
MMR, excluding Mumbai, registered two deaths, both were reported in Vasai-Virar.
