After a brief break from rains, it rained in most parts of Mumbai on Wednesday morning, bringing relief to citizens from the hot and humid weather.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD), in its latest Mumbai weather update, has predicted a generally cloudy sky with the possibility of heavy to moderate rain and thundershowers in Mumbai on Wednesday.

The maximum temperature in the city is likely to settle at 33 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature will be recorded at 26 degrees Celsius.
A high tide of about 3.92 metres is expected to hit Mumbai at 10.25 am today, stated Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC). While another high tide of about 3.45 metres is expected to hit the city at 10.05 pm. The civic body also said that a low tide of about 2.25 metres is expected at 4.17 pm today.
The IMD announced the onset of southwest monsoon over Mumbai. The IMD had reported that the southwest monsoon has advanced to parts of the central Arabian Sea, south Maharashtra, Telangana, south Chhattisgarh, south Odisha, and more areas of coastal Andhra Pradesh.
This year's Monsoon onset was two days earlier as the usual date of the onset is on June 1. This year, Kerala experienced widespread pre-monsoon rains.
After the onset of monsoon over Mumbai on June 9, ahead of the normal date of its arrival on June 11, the rains had stayed away from the metropolis for the last two days, turning the weather in the metropolis sultry.
Meanwhile, the IMD said India has received 20 per cent less rainfall since the start of the monsoon period on June 1, with the rain-bearing system making no significant progress between June 12 and 18.
However, conditions are now favourable for further advancement of the monsoon into parts of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, coastal Andhra Pradesh, northwest Bay of Bengal, Bihar and Jharkhand over the next three to four days, the weather department said.
India received 64.5 mm of rainfall between June 1 and 18 which is 20 per cent less than the long-period average (LPA) of 80.6 mm, it said.
