A special postal cover was launched on the occasion of ‘World Braille Day’ by India Post, Mumbai region, at Mumbai General Post Office on Monday.


The special cover, which is a tribute to Louis Braille, the creator of Braille writing system and the visually-impaired people across the world, was released by Harish Chandra Agrawal, chief postmaster general, Maharashtra and Goa Circle, and Swati Pandey, postmaster general, India Post, Mumbai Region, on Monday.



The special cover carries the design and unique Braille alphabets and numbers embossed on it.


The event also felicitated visually-impaired guests from across Mumbai and suburb Anand S Athalekar, Chandrakanth Gaikwad and Ankush Nagrale, who have excelled in their respective fields of work.
