Suburban services on the Vasind-Khadavli section were affected after two pantographs of an EMU suburban local train got entangled with overhead wires.

A pantograph is an apparatus mounted on the roof of an electric train, tram, or electric bus to collect power through contact with an overhead line.

Two express trains and a local train were halted due to the snag

Central Railway chief spokesperson said that the local train was going from Kasara to CSMT when the incident occurred. “Tower wagons have been moved for restoration of the train. Two express trains and a local train have been halted due to the snag,” he added. A few local train services bound in the direction have been cancelled.

Officials said that the problem should be resolved before the evening peak hour sets in so that that there are no large-scale detention or cancellation of services. The reason behind the incident will be investigated, they added.
