Mumbai reports eight new Covid-19 cases, active tally at 43

Mumbai on Wednesday reported as many as eight new cases of Covid-19. The fresh cases took the tally of infections to 11,55,178, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said in a health bulletin.


No death was reported on January 11, the death toll remained unchanged at 19,746, it said.


The recovery count increased by two more patients to touch 11,35,389, the health bulletin said.


The city now has an active caseload of 43, it further said.

According to the data, Mumbai's overall growth rate of cases between January 4 and January 10 was 0.0003 per cent, and the recovery rate stood at 98.3 per cent.

Meanwhile, Maharashtra on Tuesday recorded 24 new coronavirus infections and zero pandemic-related deaths.

The state had reported 146 active cases in the state, the health department said in a release.

The state's Covid-19 caseload rose to 81,36,844 while the death toll reached 1,48,418.

On Monday, the state had recorded nine infections and no deaths.
