Mumbai rains: IMD issues yellow alert, light to moderate rainfall likely

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for the city and the surrounding districts of Thane and Palghar for Tuesday and Wednesday.  


The IMD, in its bulletin on October 10, has forecast thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and light to moderate rains and gusty winds (30 to 40 kmph) very likely at isolated places for Tuesday and Wednesday. 



According to Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Mumbai and its suburbs will witness partly cloudy skies with moderate rain or thundershowers today.

In the last 24 hours ending at 8 am, Mumbai's island city, eastern and western suburbs had received 0.02 mm, 0.00 mm and 0.10 mm average rainfall respectively, it was stated. 

Meanwhile, a low tide of 0.34 metre is likely to occur at 6.42 pm on October 11. 

The IMD Mumbai in its weather forecast has stated that the maximum temperature in Santacruz will hover around 31.5°C, while the minimum temperature will be 25.6°C.  

On the other hand, the maximum temperature in Colaba will be 31.2°C, while the minimum temperature will be 26°C.
