According to IMD, Mumbai, Thane, and Raigad will be experiencing moderate to heavy spells of rain during the next three to four hours.

Meanwhile, it issued a red alert for the Sindhudurg district and an orange alert for Ratnagiri district on June 9. The regional IMD office in Mumbai said that the aforementioned areas will be seeing thunderstorms with lightning and gusty winds.

According to the forecast, "Thunderstorms with lightning, moderate to heavy rain, and gusty winds of up to 50 kmph are very likely to occur at isolated places in the districts of Thane, Raigad, and Mumbai during the next three to four hours." When you're moving out, exercise cautious."

The southwest monsoon has reportedly spread to parts of the central Arabian Sea, south Maharashtra, Telangana, south Chhattisgarh, south Odisha, and coastal Andhra Pradesh, according to an ANI report.

Favorable conditions are expected to allow the Southwest Monsoon to extend further into the central Arabian Sea over the next two to three days, affecting more areas of Telangana and Maharashtra, including Mumbai.

Earlier on Friday, addressing the question about monsoon arrival in Mumbai, the official stated, "The next four days are quite favourable for the advancement of the monsoon in Maharashtra and it is expected to arrive in Mumbai by June 9 - June 10."

On Sunday, a meeting headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi was held to discuss strategies for the monsoon season and to assess the ongoing heatwave. The monsoon usually arrives on June 1, but this year it arrived two days early. Kerala saw extensive pre-monsoon rains this year.
