A Mumbai Police constable ended his life after a heated altercation with his purported girlfriend, police authorities told ANI on Monday. According to the report, the alleged incident happened around 10 pm on Sunday.

The ANI report stated that the deceased constable identified as Indrajit Salunkhe purportedly sent a photo of a noose to his partner moments before he passed.
"Moments before his death, the constable allegedly sent a photo of the noose to his girlfriend, informing her that he was going to end his life by hanging himself," Mumbai police told ANI
Salunkhe, a Mumbai Police constable attached to the Local Arma Department, was involved in a turbulent romantic relationship with a Goregaon-based woman. According to the report, the pair got into a fight after the constable's interactions with other women on Instagram were revealed, causing tension to arise.
Salunkhe went to the extremity of taking his own life when the confrontation got out of hand, according to officials. The claims regarding the relationship problems are the main subject of an inquiry that the authorities have launched into the events leading up to the fatal tragedy.
The investigating officers have sent the deceased constable's body for a post-mortem analysis to determine the cause of his death. Additionally, an official confirmed the commencement of an investigation into the case.
Speaking to ANI, the police official said, "The deceased was in love with a woman who lived in the Goregaon area. It is alleged that the deceased constable used to chat with other women on Instagram. Upon discovering this, a fight broke out between the two. Following the fight, the constable took the extreme step and died due to suicide."
The official then added, "Police are investigating the allegations. A probe has been started into the case."
In another recent incident, a constable attached to Trombay Police Station allegedly killed herself at her house in Mankhurd. The deceased, who has an eight-year-old daughter, allegedly hung herself in her bedroom. Reportedly, she killed herself over a domestic dispute and had named her husband as the reason behind her death in the suicide note.
Her death came to the fore after she, who had locked herself in the bedroom, did not open the door despite repeated calls from her husband. He had contacted her brother; once he arrived they broke the door and found her dead.
A 32-year-old woman constable of Mumbai police allegedly committed suicide at her house in Mankhurd on Tuesday morning, a police officer said. The deceased, who has an eight-year-old daughter, was attached to Trombay police station. She allegedly hanged herself after locking herself in the bedroom, the police officer said.
The police registered an accidental death report and were carrying out probe.
